Reiki is a technique that encourages stress reduction, relaxation and healing. The uninterrupted flow of life energy contributes to a healthier mind and body. A Reiki session can take place wherever you are - but if you are doing an in person session, you will relax on a (massage like) table, on your back, wearing comfortable clothes. There are some circumstances where we would do a session with you sitting in a chair, especially with mobility problems or injuries.
There are also times when an in-person session doesn’t work (we live in different places around the world, you are sick or have limited mobility) and then we would do Reiki through a distant session. A distant session is completed while you are resting quietly in your space and I am in my space, and we are not in the same room. Energy is not limited to time and space, so I am able to work with people from all over the world. When I start a distant session, I ask if I can “tune in” to you where you are and I create a space where we can work together safely, for your highest good for healing. As the para-sympathetic nervous system engages during a session, a sense of relaxation (even sleepiness) can occur.
As the session nears the end, we will talk about the session and recommendations for homework for you regarding your healing. I encourage questions and will give as much information regarding the session that you need.
I work with adults and children of all ages - from birth to 100! There are various reasons why children and adults make a Reiki appointment (and each is very personal): stress relief, grief work, pain/illness recovery. I have also been honored to help people with surgery preparation and recovery (with sessions before and after ) or after an injury for pain management and healing. Parents are always welcome to stay in the room with their child or wait outside.
Sessions vary, but are generally:
30 minute
45 minute
60 minute
pre and post surgery packages are available as well as injury healing
